Department of Electrical Engineering participates in ICTCA 2017

The International Conference on Theoretical and Computational Acoustics (ICTCA) is a U.S.-based organization, founded in 1992 by late Dr. Ding Lee of Naval Underwater Systems Center. The ICTCA’s purpose is to promote scientific work and international cooperation in all areas of acoustics, which are among basic principles of engineering sciences, and hold an international conference every two years. Twelve conferences have been held to date.

Vicente Cutanda Henriquez and Peter Risby Andersen submitted and presented invited abstracts at the 13th International Conference on Theoretical and Computational Acoustics (ICTCA 2017, held in Vienna from 30th July to 3rd August. The ICTCA is a bi-annual conference with a focus on numerical methods in acoustics.

Vicente’s abstract was entitled “Boundary Element Method with Viscous and Thermal Losses: A Calibration Microphone Test Case”, co-authored with Peter and Salvador Barrera Figueroa from Danish Fundamental Metrology (DFM) A/S.

Peter’s abstract was “An Acoustic Hypersingular Boundary Element Formulation Including Viscous and Thermal Losses”, and his coauthors were Vicente, Niels Aage (from CAMM) and Steffen Marburg (from Technical University of Munich).

The abstracts were part of the session on Acoustical Boundary Elements and Related Topics.

Peter believes that the conference was very effective because it was small and very topic specific. This made it easier to meet new contacts and possible collaborators.
