Three researchers from the Acoustics Technology Group attended the ICTCA conference 2019 in Beijing from 28th July to 1st August.

The topics of the ICTCA included underwater acoustics, ocean acoustics, physical acoustics, noise and vibration, ultrasonic, phonetics and other related areas. There were 7 plenary talks and more than 20 structured sessions, including one on the Boundary Element Method (BEM). The conference is a relevant forum for the discussion of modelling techniques, theory and results in Acoustics with the presence of some of the most relevant experts in the field. The conference is connected with the specialized Journal of Theoretical and Computational Acoustics.

Daniel Gert Nielsen

Daniel Gert Nielsen, a PhD student in the Signature project presented his work on hybrid lumped/numerical models of loudspeakers.

Peter Risby Andersen

Peter Risby Andersen, a postdoc at the Centre for Acoustic-Mechanical Micro Systems (CAMM) discussed his progress on shape optimization with viscous and thermal losses.

 Vicente Cutanda Henriquez

Vicente Cutanda Henriquez, associate professor at CAMM proposed a coupling of the FEM and the BEM for dealing with viscous and thermal losses of sound waves.
