Advanced Optimization & Material Mechanics

The research focuses on the development of advanced optimization methods such as topology and shape optimization and finite element analysis of the vibrational response of small complex objects. This includes consideration to nonlinear, dissipative and anisotropic effects, geometrical and contact nonlinearities.

The research is also concerned with the static and dynamic properties of advanced materials. This includes nonlinear effects, optimal design and experimental testing.

The research is done in close collaboration with the research at the section for Solid Mechanics, DTU Mechanical Engineering, specifically the TopOpt research group.
