On 1st November, Saeed Doagou started his project entitled: "Experimental and numerical characterization of nano-filled polymers for thin-walled micro components".

Saeed, who comes from the beautiful city, Rasht, located in the south of the Caspian sea in Iran, has a Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering from Irans University of Science and Technology: (IUST).

His main area of interest is novel materials, composites and studying their various behaviours using experimental and computational techniques, and he has published several articles in the area of polymeric nanocomposites reinforced with diffenrent nonamaterials in different peer reviewed journals and conferences.

"My research targets the development of polymeric nanocomposites reinforced with carbon nanotubes for different engineering applications including high performance shells for hearing aids."
Saeed Doagou

When asked how he became interested in this particular field, Saeed explains that "Novelty and enjoyment have always been my first priority in my activities. In fact, this curiosity brought me to the area of polymeric nanocomposites in the first place and the multidisciplinary nature of this area excited me more and more during the years". The motivation for further research in this area came about because of the research undertaken during and after his Masters thesis. "Dealing with new areas of science was so gratifying that I decided to continue my research in this area in order to develop my knowledge and understanding on this subject"

Saeed believes that the CAMM department at DTU is one of the best places to continue his research. "Not only are the faculty, laboratories and working atmosphere here impressive, but the connection between the industy and the department is so interesting to me, since you know your research results would be helpful to other people at some point.  My research targets the development of polymeric nanocomposites reinforced with carbon nanotubes for different engineering applications including high performance shells for hearing aids. In order to reach this goal, we will use both experimental and numerical approaches to acquire a broader insight on different aspects of the behaviour of these materials for practical uses.

On a lighter note "Danmarks nature is beautiful with combinations of colours and the architecture is so eye-catching. I am enjoying the peacefulness of the environment very much. I should also mention that the people I have met have been so helpful and kind to me, both inside and outside the university.
